Have you ever seen someone with soft, radiant highlights and wondered, what tropical place did she just return from? Chances are, she hasn't been on vacation but has indulged in a hand-painted style of highlighting called Balayage.
Balayage comes from the French word meaning "to sweep" and is a classic European technique of highlighting which lightens the hair gradually from root to tip. The colorist uses a "sweeping" motion to apply lightener from thin at the roots to thicker towards the ends. This provides ultimate control over color application, allows for less outgrowth and much more color contrast within the hair. The result is a gorgeous and natural sun-kissed color of various shades of blond and honey-toned hues that look as if you just spent the summer frolicking on the beach.

Unlike traditional foil highlights, which can look more uniform, hair which has been highlighted with the Balayage technique simply looks like it has been kissed by the sun. Keely says that Balayage highlights are the answer to the ever requested hair color from Hollywood's hottest celebrities and the Victoria's Secret models. The highlights can be subtle or more intense, depending on the desire of the client. And balayage isn't just for blondes; it is also a fabulous option for brunettes and red heads who prefer soft and believable highlights.

| I went to Keely Coleman at Maurice Salon and had a wonderful experience. I wanted more natural looking highlights, kind of like the girls in the Victoria's Secret Catalog. (If i can't look like them I at least want their hair, ;) So I explained to Keely what I wanted and she said the best technique would be Balayage highlights. It's a newer way to do highlights so your hair looks natural, kind of like when you were a kid and got to be in the sun all summer. So she did the highlights and I love them. My hair looks so healthy and natural, its exactly what I wanted. The best part is with these kind of highlights I only have to go in every 3 months, because they grow out without looking really harsh. I have gotten so many compliments and would recommend this to anyone. Keely is amazing, so sweet and she actually listened to what I wanted.
